Canadian Evaluations System - Program Manager

Work from Home – Canada

Full-time position, 2-year contract

 

The Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) is dedicated to advancing the profession of sign language interpreting and supporting its members through various programs and services. One of these programs is the Canadian Evaluations System (CES), Canada’s only certification process for ASL-English interpreters in Canada. We are looking to restructure the program, and in order to move forward with the work, a temporary (contract) position for a CES Program Manager will be created.

The CES Program Manager will report the Executive Director and will be responsible for

  • program development/restructuring
    • ie: implement and manage key identified projects for each phase within the CES program
  • program delivery
    • assume responsibility for general program administration
    • ie: WTK & TOI offerings

The goal of the CES Program Manager position is to ensure the CES program has the appropriate infrastructure and dedicated staffing necessary to ensure efficient program development and delivery.  

 

What you need to succeed

  • Knowledge of and experience within the field of sign language interpreting
  • Strong project management & problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong team player skills
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
    • There will be times you will find yourself in ASL-only spaces. You must have the ASL language proficiency necessary to succeed in this environment.
  • Strong written English skills
  • Access to high-speed internet

 

A Note to All Applicants that are Members of CASLI

The CES Program Manager will have access to all Canadian Evaluation System (CES) testing source materials. If you are a CASLI member, you will not be eligible to pursue any of the CES phases during the contract period and three years following the conclusion of the employment contract.
