As you know, AVLIC's Strategic Plan 2010-2015 includes developing cost projections, a job description, and management structure leading to the hiring of an executive director within the next three years. 

 

In the fall of 2014, the Board struck a taskforce on to investigate all options and provide the Board with recommendations, timelines and plan to increase paid staff for the Association.

This is Marty Taylor, the newly elected member of the Canadian Administrator of VRS (CAV) Board of Directors.  I am looking forward to representing ASL-English interpreters on our quest to provide VRS to Canadians.

The CAV Board is holding its inaugural meeting on March 9 & 10, 2015, in Ottawa, Ontario. Afterwards I will provide a report to the membership summarizing our work.

AVLIC Board Now Accepting Nominations for Director

As you are aware from the recent e-mail (2015-02 Resignation), there is a vacancy on the AVLIC Board of Directors for a Director position (formerly known as Member-at-Large). 

 

This specific Director portfolio is responsible for liaising between the AVLIC Board and the Affiliate Chapter Presidents, Interpreter Education Program Coordinators and the LSQ Relations Committee as well as playing an active part of the Board. 

Canadian Administrator of Video Relay Service (CAV) Board of Directors Announced

February 3, 2015 - The Interim CAV Board, which oversaw the nomination and election process, announced the results of the Director and Permanent Invitee process. The first meeting of the permanent Board of Directors will be held in the coming weeks. In the meantime, AVLIC wishes to congratulate the sucessful candidates and thanks then, in advance, for their willingness to guide and shape Video Relay Services in Canada!
