The CASLI board and staff want to share with our members, non-member colleagues, and the Deaf community, that we recognize that Black Lives Matter.  We recognize that CASLI, in all the decades of our existence as an association, has contributed to the four hundred years of systemic oppression and racism.

We’re trying to reframe our view to see these issues through the lens of Black lives.  We’re trying to effect changes to our association with you in mind.

We urge members to keep the tenets of our code of ethics in mind in everything we do. These tenets, (3.0) Non-Discrimination and (4.0) Integrity in Professional Relationships, are underscored with respect for others. These tenets innately place the responsibility on each of us to ensure that what we bring to each setting does not compromise the safety of others.
