Hello everyone! I am currently a fourth-year interpreting student at George Brown College. I am emailing you all today as a request for recently graduated interpreters and interpreter educators to participate in a research study! - with full ethics approval under the supervision of Phyllis Vazquez and Debra Russell.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences, preferences and benefits of using situated-based learning (ex. Pre-recorded videos for interpreting practice) and simulated-based learning (ex. Live role-plays for interpreting practice). Reflecting back on your experience as an interpreting student or interpreter educator, the following questions will be addressed:

1.What are the current authentic-based teaching methods that Canadian ASL to English interpreting programs used to teach interpreting skills within classrooms?

A. What are the perceptions of Canadian interpreter educators about the effectiveness of authentic-based learning within classrooms?

B. What are the perceptions and experiences of recently graduated Canadian working interpreters of authentic-based learning and interpreting classrooms?

If you are interested in learning more about these studies, please follow the link to access the letter of information and informed consent.
