Industry Representatives Advisory Panel (IRAP) Meeting

Update as of August 17, 2015:

The IRAP meeting, originally scheduled for September 2015, has been rescheduled for November 2015 due to the federal election. The feedback and questions sent to AVLIC (as a result of the notice below) will be addressed with PWGSC in November.

Original Message as of August 6, 2015:

As was mentioned in the e-mail distributed to the AVLIC membership on July 17, 2015, the Translation Bureau under Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) put out a tender last year and subsequently solicited AVLIC's involvement as a member of the Industry Representatives Advisory Panel (IRAP). The IRAP is a group made of industry representatives; associations, company and individual language interpreters / translators. The goal is to have stakeholders advise the Translation Bureau on their activities, strengthen the relationship between the Bureau and industry as well as share ideas and promote discussion.

The initial meeting was held last winter and another meeting is planned for September 17, 2015. Jocelyn Mark, AVLIC president and / or Brenda Jenkins (AVLIC director, as an alternate) will be attending this meeting in Ottawa.

If you have any feedback as a consumer of or contractor for the Translation Bureau or general comments that you would like for AVLIC to bring forward, please do not hesitate to be in touch with either Jocelyn or Brenda by August 12, 2015.
