Announcement: 2020 Conference Logo Contest

The 2020 Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) Conference Planning Committee is announcing a logo contest. The winning logo will be used for the 2020 CASLI Conference, which will be held July 18 – Aug 1, 2020, in Vancouver BC.
If you are wondering why the 2020 conference is using the CASLI acronym instead of AVLIC, the reason is because, after extensive consultation, the AVLIC membership has approved a name change of the organization. And while AVLIC is not officially CASLI yet this change will be official as of July 2018.
Back to the logo contest, we are looking for your expertise in design to create a logo for the 2020 conference. The contest is now open for submissions, and the committee will continue to accept submissions up until March 3, 2018.
The committee will review all design submissions and select a winning logo. The winning design will be announced on March 6, 2018.
The designer of the winning logo will receive a $100 prepaid visa card. You can use the $100 for anything you'd like, but I’d like to suggest you take me out for a matcha latte!
You can be as creative as you would like with the logo, however, in order for your design to qualify for the contest, it must include the following items

  • the date of the conference

    • July 28 – August 1, 2020

  • the conference theme

    • 2020 Clear Vision: Culture, Intersectionality and Diversity

  • the approved colour scheme

    • green, blue, & white

If you have any questions, or would like more information, send an email to
It’s time to get creative and start designing! The winning logo will be showcased across Canada.

Good luck!
