The AVLIC NewsThe purpose of the AVLIC News is to provide a medium for publishing articles and information about the field of interpreting, to promote constructive discussion on interpreting-related topics, and to inform the AVLIC membership of the activities of the Board of Directors, Affiliate Chapters, and the association as a whole. Editorial PolicyThe AVLIC News reserves the right to refuse to publish anything that is deemed racist, sexist, homophobic, or demeaning to another person or organization. Articles may be edited for clarity and brevity, or omitted due to space considerations. The opinions in the newsletter reflect the author's views and do not necessarily represent the views of the AVLIC News, or the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada. The AVLIC News is currently only available in English and French. All AVLIC members are entitled to receive the AVLIC News. Advertising Policy:All advertising is subject to AVLIC's approval. Publication of an advertisement does not constitute endorsement of standards of goods or services promoted. Note: the above rates may change based on recommendations from the publications committee and authorization by the Board of Directors. Each issue is usually based on a theme. Upcoming themes are advertised in the preceding issue, in order to solicit articles. Articles are also solicited from Affiliate Chapters, members and others through an e-mail distribution list approximately four weeks, and two weeks before the submission deadline. Board members and Affiliate Chapters are reminded to submit their newsletter updates approximately one month and two weeks before the deadline. Each issue should have standard announcements about dates and sites for upcoming board meetings, annual general meetings and the conference. |
