As you may already be aware, the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) hearing for "Issues related to the feasibility of establishing a Video Relay Services (VRS)" is scheduled for October 21 − 25, 2013, in Gatineau, Québec.  Many AVLIC members wrote submissions back in May strongly encouraging the CRTC to provide VRS in Canada.

Hello AVLIC members,

Your AVLIC Board met over the September 28 & 29, 2013 weekend in Saskatoon, SK. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed in hosting us. We were warmly welcomed and look forward to a future visit. We would also like to thank the interpreters who worked at the meeting, as well as members and non-members who came to observe the meeting.

Update October 9, 2013:

Earlier today the CRTC responded to AVLIC's request to appear at the VRS hearing by saying YES, we can present! This is wonderful news which is being shared with our members, Deaf community leaders and VRS advocacy groups by direct email as well as the public via AVLIC's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
